Daniela Conte Foundation Receives $20,000 Grant from Subaru Share the Love Event

This year, the Daniela Conte Foundation is honored to receive a $20,125 grant from Subaru's 14th Annual Share the Love Event. This annual fundraising event has donated over $225 million to local and national charities since it began in 2008. Hasset Subaru of Wantagh, NY chose DCF as their hometown charity and beneficiary for this year’s campaign.

Katia said that “only 4% of federal government cancer research funds goes towards pediatrics” and according to the LLS “Over the last 40 years only 4 new pediatric cancer therapies have been developed, a small number in comparison to the hundreds for adults, underscoring the urgent need for continued research in targeted therapies and immunotherapies for pediatric cancers.”
DCF Donates $30,000 to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory

Katia is frustrated by the small amount of money that is spent on childhood cancer. She said cancer patients are the number one recipients of blood products. Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to make an impact for a child that is fighting cancer.

The family also started a foundation in Daniella's name to bring more awareness to lesser-known pediatric cancers. They also plan to host a gala and 5K.
