July is Daniela’s birthday month. She would have turned 11 years old on July 24th. Throughout the entire month, we have many opportunities for you to help continue her legacy and make an impact on other kids fighting pediatric cancer.
Here are 5 ways you can honor Daniela’s 11th Birthday with DCF:
1) Create a Facebook Fundraiser
In honor of your birthday (or even Daniela’s on July 24th), create a Facebook Fundraiser for DCF! 100% of the funds raised goes directly to DCF.
For a fun twist, challenge your friends and family to donate $11 to your fundraiser in honor of Daniela’s 11th birthday.
Here’s how to set up your Facebook Fundraiser:
Login to Facebook on a computer
On the left, click “Fundraisers”
On the left, click the “+ Raise money” button
Click “Nonprofit”
Search and select “Daniela Conte Foundation”
Enter a fundraising goal, end date, fundraiser title, and a short description
Click the “Create” button
Invite friends and share the fundraiser on your newsfeed!
2) Shop Amazon Prime Day with AmazonSmile
Amazon Prime Day is coming up on Tuesday, July 12 and Wednesday, July 13.
AmazonSmile is the quickest and easiest way to support DCF. Every time you shop, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase to DCF, at no additional cost to you. Just make sure you’ve activated AmazonSmile on your account.

3) Grab a Drink at BabaluNY
BabaluNY has graciously partnered with DCF this month for their “Cocktails for a Cure” event. They even crafted the Hibiscus Purple Passion specialty cocktail in honor of Daniela and will include it as one of their signature drinks.

4) Buy a Limited Edition DCF Hat
Hats were always Daniela’s favorite. Wherever she was, you’d see her in a bucket hat or her signature baseball cap with the initial “D”. They made her feel comfortable and confident during hard times when she had little to no hair because of the chemotherapy treatments.
We are happy to announce that now through July 31st (or until supplies last), you can buy a limited edition DCF hat! 100% of the proceeds go directly back to DCF.
5) Donate Blood at Your Local Blood Center
You can make a difference in someone’s life just by donating blood!
During 4 years of Daniela's chemotherapy treatment, she received hundreds of blood transfusions. In essence, the chemotherapy essentially destroys the bone marrow that manufactures red blood cells. The red blood cells are necessary to transport oxygen while the platelets help control blood clotting and ultimately prevent the child from uncontrollable bleeding and possible death.
Donating blood only takes approximately 30 minutes. Whole blood is extracted, and from there, red blood cells can be generated from transfusions these packed cells can then have a shelf life up to 42 days. One pint of donated blood can save up to 3 lives.
