On June 16, 2022, Sawmill Intermediate School in Commack presented the Daniela Conte Foundation with a check for $7,950! The School Based Management Team chose the Daniela Conte Foundation as the recipient of their fundraising efforts this year. For two weeks, Sawmill staff, students, and their families worked together to raise money and collect donations.
This is particularly special to us because Daniela was, and should still be, a student at this school. Principal Michelle Tancredi-Zott and several of Daniela's closest friends presented the check to DCF’s President and Co-Founder, and Daniela’s mother, Katia Conte.
If cancer hadn't entered her life Daniela would have been graduating from 5th grade this month and moving on to middle school in the fall with her friends.
We are extremely grateful that Daniela is honored by the Sawmill community in such a meaningful way. Thank you to everyone at the Sawmill Intermediate School!
This amazing donation will help us grow Daniela’s Butterfly Box™ Program, which delivers smiles to children in active treatment and their siblings. To date, more than 100 Butterfly Boxes have spread joy to children throughout our local community.
